The Betty’s Burgers Noosa Tigers AFC Colts side have progressed through to the Preliminary final after a stirring come from behind win over Western Districts in Brisbane on Saturday. In what was a do or die clash, the Tigers held tough all match to mount a late charge in the final quarter and notch the win by 10 points.

With a fierce wind playing havoc all day, Western Districts got off to a flying start leading at the first change by 12 points. Courageously, the Tigers fought their way back kicking with the wind in the second term to only trail by three points at half time. It was all Western Districts in the third quarter as they kicked with the wind to lead by twenty-one points at the final change. A stirring three-quarter time speech from coach Jeremy Aufderheide sprung the Tigers into action as the young Colts dug deep to pile on the goals.  Angus Smyth was extremely dangerous up forward ending with six majors for the day whilst Will McKenzie was super impressive up forward and all over the ground to contribute with a couple of majors also.

In a win that has been described as ‘one of the best seen in years’ , the Colts will now play off in a preliminary final against Southport on Saturday at 10:45am for a chance to make it into the Big Dance! Good luck boys!
