Dylan Evans named All Australian

Noosa Tigers Dylan Evans has been selected in the 2019 Inclusion All Australian team. Dylan’s selection comes after representing Queensland in the National Inclusion Carnival played at Blacktown, Sydney from the 15th-20th July.

The carnival was represented by all states and territories including Victoria Metro and Victoria Country teams The competition saw all states play each other once (12 a side  in 2 x 7 minute halves) to determine a Division 1 and Division 2 competition for remainder of week,. From there, the teams played 4 x 10 minute quarter matches in their division to determine grand finalist for each division

Dylan’s day 1 was made up of matches vs NSW, NT, Vic Metro and Vic Country. Queensland started with a victory over NSW in game 1, before being outplayed by NT in game two. The men from the northern state also pushing Vic Metro to 2 points and drew with Vic Country. Dylan played a pivotal role in all four games rebounding of half back and through the midfield setting up play after play with his long kicking and fast pace running.

Day 2 started the same way for Dylan playing S.A, W.A and Tasmania. He displayed excellent ball use and his courage against W.A backing into a pack with W.A’s ruckman bearing down on him was one of the highlights. Dylan had completed the job for Queensland in the first 6 games and deserved a rest against Tasmania.

Day 3 saw the start of Division 1 and Division 2 competitions with Queensland being in Division 2 and just missing Division 1 by percentage. Dylan started the day slowly as expected from the hit he received day before and it wasn’t long before he was back to winning his one on one’s and rebounding footy up the ground to team mates. It was a great day for Dylan and Queensland as they defeated Tasmania and W.A therefore wrapping up a spot in the Division 2 Grand Final.

On Day 4, Queensland played the last game vs NSW before the Grand Final. Dylan still had the ball on a string collecting possessions at will with his run and carry – setting himself up for a great Grand Final vs Western Australia.

Dylan’s effort in the Grand Final was excellent starting in defence and moving into midfield after half time where his fitness came to the fore. He out worked the Western Australian boys and set up goal after goal to enable Queensland to take out the Division 2 title for 2019.

A great effort by Dylan and all Noosa Tigers should be proud of!
