BUNTZ Re Commits

Ryley Buntain has officially signed back at Noosa for 2022. Ryley is one of the premier players in the QAFL & without a few injuries late this season was one of the favorites to take out the league MVP. Ryley is one of the most athletic players in the QAFL and can play anywhere on the ground having an enormous impact. With the team we are putting together Chris Rourke is going to love having Ryley as an Ace card being able to play him wherever the team needs him. Ryley no doubt was a huge target for a lot of clubs all over Queensland but being a former Noosa junior & being loyal to his club and mates he turned down a lot of big offers and didn’t hesitate to recommit to us.

Ryley answered a few questions for our supporters

Name: Ryley Buntain

Age: 28

Position: Utility

Noosa AFC: Welcome back to the Noosa Football Club, what made you decide to play for us in 2022?

Ryley: After the year we had this year, there was no way I could look elsewhere. We must make up for the disappointment of our first year in the QAFL and with the signings already I’m confident we can

Noosa AFC: What would be your best position?

Ryley: Centre Half Back

Noosa AFC: What do you do for work?

Ryley: Plumber

Noosa AFC: Do you have any other hobbies away from Footy?

Ryley: I love playing Basketball (Currently leading the Men’s A Grade in scoring for the Noosa Tigers Basketball team)

Noosa AFC: Career Highlights?

  • 2019/2020 back-to-back Premiers
  • Was invited to the Draft Combine where Ryley actually out jumped West Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui
  • Played for Morningside and was voted the league Rising Star in the NEAFL
  • Selected in the under 22 NEAFL representative team

Noosa AFC: What AFL club do you support, who is you Favorite Former player & Current AFL Footballer?

Ryley: North Melbourne, I loved Drew Petrie & Ben Cunnington is great to watch

Noosa AFC: What do you want to achieve at Noosa AFC both personally & as a team in 2022

Personally – Get fitter, I’d love to spend some more time in the midfield and the wing & I’d love to get through the season Injury free

Team – I think with the team we are putting together we can make up for this year and have a big impact in the finals & I’d love to also help with the development of our young kids coming into the senior squad

Noosa AFC: Buntz, you highlight the crowd every week with your brilliance, and we have no doubt 2022 will be another stella year especially if you move up the ground into the midfield. We are so excited to see you back out there doing what you do best.
